Board of Elections continues voting list maintenance
Anson County Board of Elections director Steve Adams provided updates on the county’s voting list maintenance, which was begun in December. Adams said the county has processed 39 new registrations, 38 from the DMV and one in the board office. Additionally, the board processed one felony removal, 16 death removals, eight address changes, and 39 new voter cards. During a budget meeting Monday night, the Anson County Board of Commissioners accepted the recommendations of Mike Sessions, public utilities director, and Lawrence Gatewood, county manager, to increase water rates for the first time since 2008, when the rate for the minimum user increased from $10 to $11.
