WADESBORO — Donald H. Spivey, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President of Pee Dee Electric Membership Corporation, was recently elected to serve a second term as president of the board of directors for North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation (NCEMC).
Spivey, who has been with Pee Dee Electric for 26 years, was elected to his term during the group’s annual meeting in Raleigh. The elections took place during the business session of the meeting on April 18.
Pee Dee Electric is a member-owned electric cooperative serving more than 20,700 members in seven counties.
NCEMC is one of the nation’s largest generation and transmission cooperatives. It is governed by a board of directors and is responsible for planning, developing, operating and maintaining a power supply system to serve the capacity and energy requirements of most of the state’s member cooperatives.
North Carolina’s electric cooperatives serve 2.5 million people in 93 of the state’s 100 counties.
