Some needy folks in the Morven area will have a happier Thanksgiving, thanks to the efforts of the members of the Morven chapter of Las Amigas, who donated four baskets of food to the Morven Food Bank on Saturday.
JoLetha Little, vice president of the Morven Chapter of Las Amigas, said that the non-profit organization for women has been part of the Morven community for about 25 years. “We’re very thankful to the citizens of Morven for their support,” she said.
The donation to the Morven Food Bank was made at the beginning of Las Amigas’ annual Thanksgiving luncheon for senior citizens. “I know music is often called the universal language, and so is food,” said Theodore Carr, chairman of the Morven Food Bank. “This is our way of addressing needs in the community — food is definitely one of those.”
