On Feb. 9, Wadesboro police officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 109 South near Freeman Avenue. The vehicle was occupied by Clinton Alan Walters, 37, of Wadesboro and Amy Threatt Campbell, 37, of Polkton.
During a search of the vehicle officers located a handgun, methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia. During the investigation, officers searched the residence of 103 Trexler Drive, where Walters resides. Pursuant to the search, officers located a methamphetamine lab and paraphernalia that is used to cook methamphetamines.
Walters was charged with the following felonies: possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a felon, obtaining controlled substance by fraud/forgery, possession/distribution of methamphetamine precursor, manufacturing methamphetamine. He was also charged with misdemeanors, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon and simple possession of schedule II CS.
Walters was placed under a $306,500 bond and has a court date set for Feb. 26.
Campbell was charged with the following felonies: possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by felon, obtaining controlled substance by fraud/forgery, possessing/distributing methamphetamine precursor; and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was place under a $51,500secured bond and has a court date set for Feb. 26.
