At the Anson County Democratic Party’s monthly meeting on Sept. 11, over 50 energized citizens came together to organize a countywide registration drive to be held at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church on Salisbury Street in Wadesboro on Sept. 22, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Board of Election Chair Freddie Paxton and Clerk of Court Mark Hammonds spoke on the rights and importance of voting. Democratic Party Chair Vancine Sturdivant made a plea to everyone present to not only get someone to vote but to take someone to vote. She stated, “This is a very important election and we will be victorious.”
For further information or to volunteer for the registration drive, please contact Vancine Sturdivant at 704-848-4412 or Dr. Bernice Bennett at 704-848-4085.
