Anson Middle School Wresting team coach, James Tillman, is excited this year for his wrestling team.
“It’s been a learning experience for me, being that it is my first head coaching job, but I am enjoying it very much,” Tillman said.
He believes he has a good group of wrestlers for this season. They recently won first place in a tournament at Long Middle. The final tournament score was 5-0.
“It was a great season so far, we got three more matches and we might go to states this year,” Ravon, a member of the AMS wresting team, said. “The team worked hard that day running on the track.”
“I feel very good about the guys we have and hope to continue to improve as wrestlers and students,” Tillman said.
The team participated in a tournament at Piedmont on Monday, with another in Monroe scheduled for Jan. 29.
