The incident occured at 2:52 p.m. when the top of the truck caught a line. No one was hurt.
Washington Street was blocked below the intersection with U.S.-74. Crews from Windstream and Progress Energy were working to repair the damage.
"It's going to be several hours" before the road is reopened, interim chief of the Wadesboro Police Department Thedis Spencer said Wednesday.
