A three-car wreck on U.S. 74 East resulted in property damage but minimal injuries, according to Trooper Ratliff with the N.C. Highway Patrol. The wreck happened at 6:55 a.m. Thursday about 4.8 miles from Lilesville.

Donald Earle Keziah was heading east in a 2012 Chevrolet work van when he became distracted and hit the military Hummer in front of him, according to Ratliff. The 1988 Hummer, driven by Zachary Daniel Otto, was sent into a private driveway while Keziah hit a vehicle from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Department, Daniel Edwin Johnson’s 2007 Ford, which was sent into the median.

Keziah noticed the Hummer in front of him and attempted to avoid it but was too late. “There was a lot of property damage, but no one was seriously injured,” Ratliff said. “It wasn’t as bad as it looked.”

The wreck took place not far behind a stopped school bus that was picking up children.

Keziah was taken to the Anson County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Two passengers in the Humvee were taken to the hospital but were released.
