Scarborough-Taylor engagement

Don and Elaine Scarborough of Polkton announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Thomas Scarborough, to Jeremy Duane Taylor, son of Rodney and Teresa Taylor. Whitney is the granddaughter of Ethel Bartholomew of Raleigh, the late Thomas Alfred Bartholomew, Lois Scarborough of Wadesboro, and the late Landon Scarborough.

She is a graduate of the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics. She earned her bachelor degree in communication studies and political science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. Scarborough attained her law degree from Campbell University School of Law in 2011. She is an attorney at Poisson, Poisson & Bower, PLLC in Wadesboro.

Taylor is the grandson of Frances and Herbert Taylor of Peachland and the late Raymond and Elgie Surratt of Norwood. He graduated from Anson High School in 2002. He works for ATI/Allvac in Monroe.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 20, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Wadesboro.
