Ruth Sellers Hinson, 93, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at the Brian Center in Lincolnton.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home beginning at 2 p.m. until time for the service.

Ruth was born May 10, 1916, in Anson County, a daughter of the late John Henry and Ottie Grace Meachum Sellers. She was well-known for her long career as a floral designer, having worked for many years with Anson Flower Shop in Wadesboro and later Cottage Florist in Lilesville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Wadesboro.

Surviving are her children, Rhonda Hollis and husband, Dennis of Iron Station and Riley Hinson Jr. and wife, Marussia of Toronto, Canada; her grandchildren, Jason Hollis and wife Abby of Lincolnton, Carol Stillwell and husband Doug of Andrews, Rebecca Hollis of Iron Station, Adrianna and Julia Hinson, both of Toronto, Canada; her great-grandchildren, John and Daniel Hollis and Caleb Stillwell; her sister, Ina Moore of Charlotte and her nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Edwin Hinson, and by her brothers and sisters, Bill, Donald and Bob Sellers, Dorothy Certain, Minnie Lee Tice and Margaret Sellers.
