The Richmond Raiders made history Friday night against Anson, handing the Bearcats a decisive loss, 58-0, en route to their 100th straight shutout.

Although the Bearcats (0-3) came into Friday night’s game averaging 292 yards of offense, the Raiders limited them to just 146 yards of total offense.

Anson quarterback Rodrick Evans struggled to find any rhythm in the pocket, connecting on just 4 of 10 passes for 24 yards. Receiver Bunyon Tyson, who came into the game with five touchdowns, was limited to two catches for 11 yards.

“It was a great job by Richmond,” Anson coach Luke Hyatt said. “We couldn’t get anything going and I will take the blame for that. I need to coach a little harder and we need to play a little harder. They are where we want to be.”

The Bearcats will next travel to Chesterfield at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7.
