WADESBORO — Marilene Carpenter Morris, 74, died Aug. 3, 2012 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment followed in Anson Memorial Park. The family greeted friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
Morris was born Jan. 10, 1938 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Lester W. and Lula Harrington Carpenter. She was a retired textile seamstress.
Surviving are her brothers and sisters, Bobby Carpenter of Wadesboro, Frank Carpenter, Dan Carpenter, Harvey Carpenter and Freddy Carpenter, all of Lilesville, Lib Simpson of Hardeeville, S.C., Midge Kilbane of Charleston, S.C., and Jean Pruitt of Gaffney, S.C.; and her nieces and nephews and their families. Her husband, Roy Thomas “Tommy” Morris, preceded her in death in 2005.
