After earning their first win of the season against Chesterfield Sept. 7, the Bearcats ended up on the wrong side of a blowout Friday night, losing 56-6 against Scotland.

Quarterback Rodrick Evans was once again the standout on the Anson team, throwing the pass to running back Vernice Rorie for the Bearcats' lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The Fighting Scots made one mistake on their first offensive play of the game, when Bearcats’ corner C.J. Bivens intercepted a pass from quarterback Jaylend Ratliffe intended for TreShawn Gregory. The interception got the home crowd riled up, but the enthusiasm would be short-lived, as the Scots scored their first touchdown with six minutes left in the first quarter, and never looked back.

Scotland went on to score 21 more points in both the second and third quarter, racking up an insurmountable lead by the time Evans scored the touchdown near the end of the game.

Anson will next take on non-conference East Columbus at home Friday night at 7:30 p.m. The Bearcats now have a 1-4 record.
