Two Morven men have been charged with murder.
Timothy Markeith Richardson, 22, and Octavius Devonne Feely, 21, have been charged with first degree murder. They were charged in relation to the death of Phillip M. Maske, 41, of Wadesboro.
Maske was shot late Nov. 30 at his home on Harlem Heights Road. He was shot twice through the door to his home, one shot grazing his hand and the other hitting his torso. The perpetrators never entered the home.
His wife, Tonya Maske, made the 911 call.
He was pronounced dead around midnight Dec. 1 at Anson Community Hospital.
Richardson was taken into custody early Dec. 22 in Prince George's County, Maryland, according to a statement from the Wadesboro Police Department. Steps are being taken to bring him to Anson.
Feely turned himself in late Dec. 21.
"We're not going to discuss that quite yet," Chief Janie Schutz said when asked about the suspects' motives.
"At this point the investigation continues and other arrests are possible," she said in the statement.
In addition to the Wadesboro Police Department, the Anson County Sheriff's Office, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation worked on the case.
"Countless hours have been put into this investigation and the result has been superb," Schutz said in the statement.
