The Anson High School varsity volleyball team won 3-1 against Central Academy on Thursday evening.
The girls won their matches 25-15, 25-12 and 25-10 while CATA won its match 25-21. “I thought they played as one team tonight,” coach Celeste Dutton said. “Everyone had a hand in the win and everyone did their best.”
The team also won two other recent home non-conference games, 3-2 against Richmond on Tuesday and 3-0 against Monroe on Wednesday. “Yesterday they beat Monroe 3-0, and JV and varsity both won,” co-coach Patty Livingston said of Wednesday’s game. “We played strong all the way around and made very few errors.”
The JV team has also done well. It won a home non-conference match to Monroe 2-0 on Wednesday and again to Central Academy 2-0 on Thursday.
The girls’ next match will be at home on Thursday. JV will begin at 5 p.m. and varsity will begin around 6 p.m.
