On May 31, Cub Scout Pack 530 held an e-recycling drive at Peachland United Methodist Church in Peachland.

Thanks to the participation of families and businesses from Anson and surrounding counties, Pack 530 collected 2,733 pounds of electronics, including cell phones, printers, copiers, toner cartridges, monitors, computers, televisions and small appliances. That is over a ton of waste that was safely recycled instead of sent to the landfill.

Due to the strong community support, the group plans to make it a semi-annual event, with the next drive planned for November 2014. Pick-ups prior to November can be arranged. Please contact Laura Laney at 704-994-9173.
