Applications are currently being accepted from families with a focus on children that will be 4 years old by September 1. Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group Head Start Program has collaboration Pre-K classes with Altus Public School available at the Lincoln and Wilson centers. Children with disabilities, including sever, are encouraged to apply.


Bus transportation in town is available if needed. Child supplies and family style meals are included at no charge to the family. Staff will help children toilet train that have not reached this goal.


Parent needs to bring the child’s birth certificate and shot record along with the last three pay stubs of each adult in the household to 900 S. Carver in Altus during work hours this week or to any center location on Friday, Aug. 15.


SOCAG Head Start Program serves children (birth to age 5) in Jackson, Harmon, Greer, and Elk City in Beckham counties.
