Anson County author Cindy Ponds Newell will host a ghost story event Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Polkton Depot.
Newell will be dressed in period clothing and will tell local ghost stories and legends. There will be door prizes and snacks available.
Newell lives in Anson County with her husband of 19 years and their three children. According to her author bio on amazon.com, Newell “has a fascination with the supernatural and that, along with her vivid imagination, allows her to write ghostly stories.”
She is the author of “Don’t Say Her Name,” published in 2012, and “The Kept: A Ghost Story,” published in June of this year. Both titles are available on amazon.com.
