The people of Anson County have a wonderful gem sitting right here in the middle of town! It is the Ansonia Theatre. We have attended many of the productions that have been produced there since it opened, but Saturday night may have been one of the best. The production was a show by Broadway musical star David Burnham and his very talented piano accompanist. I was pinching myself as I listened to this extraordinarily talented young man. I was sitting in Wadesboro, N.C., listening to music that you would pay a small fortune to hear in New York City and it cost $15!
I urge the residents of Anson to please take advantage of this gift in our community. Many of the productions that are held here are absolutely free and there are others to which the fee is minimal. The Anson County Arts Council has no paid executive director. Everything that occurs at the theatre is because of volunteers who give their talents and time to making that theatre a valuable addition to our community. They deserve many kudos.
Thank you, Anson County Arts Council volunteers and board members for making this already grand community a little richer.
