UPDATE: On March 27, the Anson County Sheriff’s Office led a major drug bust, the culmination of an eight-month long investigation. Fourteen people were arrested two weeks ago, and, Sheriff Tommy Allen reported on Monday, one more individual has been arrested in connection with the drug bust operation. Four individuals are still at large, and are being sought by the Sheriff’s Office.


The March 27 drug roundup netted 178 charges against 29 individuals. Firearms, money, cocaine and marijuana were seized during the operation. The Anson County Sheriff’s Office coordinated with the Polkton Police Department and Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) to arrest the 14 suspects.


The arrest announced Monday was:

  • Connie Joe Baker, 43, charged with maintaining a dwelling for the purposes of manufacturing, storing and selling a controlled substance (marijuana), possession with intent to sell, deliver and manufacture marijuana, conspiracy to sell marijuana, and the sale and delivery of marijuana. Her bond was set at $50,000.


Individuals who are still at large:

  • Martin Luther Bennett, 37, wanted for three counts each of: felony possession of cocaine, selling cocaine, delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to sell and deliver, maintaining a vehicle for the sale of cocaine, and conspiracy to sell cocaine.
  • Kevin D. Dunlap, 44, wanted for two counts of conspiracy to sell and distribute crack.
  • Marcus Dunlap, 30, was arrested March 27, but posted bond. He is now wanted for the following additional charges: two counts of felony possession of cocaine and two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine; and one count each of sale and delivery of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for the sale of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • TaDarrell Durrell Lee, 36, wanted for maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of selling cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sale and delivery of cocaine, and felony possession of cocaine.
