J.J. Haines was recognized for having the largest and most enthusiastic team.

The HOLLA! 5K is an annual event purposed to raise funds and awareness to HOLLA!’s literacy programs. Dr. Florita Bell Griffin, a Wadesboro native who is now an author and the creative director of ARC Communications, LLC — a company founded by her husband — and the designer of the Little Flower dolls sold by the company, was named as a key supporter. Poisson Poisson and Bower and IGA were also recognized as major supporters of the event.

“We appreciate all levels of support,” Leon Gatewood, CEO of HOLLA!, said. “We are especially appreciative of and motivated by the youth involvement. We are excited that we will soon be announcing a national program inspired by the local youth in this event.”

Donations to HOLLA! can be mailed to: HOLLA! P.O. Box 88 Wadesboro, NC 28170.
