CHERAW, S.C. — McLeod Health Cheraw is pleased announces the recipient of the September 2017 McLeod Merit Award.
Wayne Wilson, McLeod Radiology technologist, was presented with a special plaque and medal during a recognition event held Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 in the hospital cafeteria.
Wilson has been with McLeod Health for almost three years as an MRI technologist. He was nominated for the award by Nancy Teal, Radiology receptionist, who has taken note of Wilson’s hard work and commitment to patient care over the years.
“Wayne performs MRI’s in the truck located behind the hospital and when he is not busy doing those, he helps out his fellow team members by performing regular x-rays and CT scans,” said Teal.
“He is one of those people who goes out of his way to help others when he can, whether it is a co-worker or a patient,” continued Teal. “If Wayne feels he can be of assistance, he does not need to be asked, he jumps in willingly.”
Mike McCarty, director of radiology, McLeod Health Cheraw, thanked Wilson for his dedication to the organization, other staff and to patients.
“When Wayne first started working here, he was working at three campuses and rotating among them,” said McCarty. “We are so lucky that he chose this campus to work full time because he plays a key role in the Radiology department and is a great asset to our team.”
The McLeod Merit Award recognizes McLeod Health employees, volunteers and physicians who consistently exemplify service excellence standards and who also demonstrate and promote the McLeod Health mission, vision and values. Recipients are nominated by their coworkers and chosen by members of the McLeod Health Cheraw Service Excellence Committee.
