Police respond to shoplifting call, find drugs

Wadesboro police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Wal-Mart on Wednesday only to find drugs on the suspect when they arrived.

While investigating a shoplifting case, police arrested Susan Sikes Love, 43, on suspicion of shoplifting clothing items. Upon further investigation, officers discovered the Wadesboro woman had methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia, according to WPD Captain Brandon Chewning.

Love was arrested and taken to the magistrate’s office. She is charged with possession to intent, manufacture, and sell/deliver methamphetamine (felony), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), larceny (misdemeanor), shoplifting concealment of goods (misdemeanor), and resisting a public officer (misdemeanor).

Love’s bond was set at $7,500 secured. Her court date is set for July 8.
