Wadesboro police arrest man under new pseudoephedrine law

Wadesboro police arrested Randy Lee Henry for possession of precursor chemicals. It was the first such arrest for the Wadesboro Police Department since a new pseudoephedrine law meant to reduce the manufacturing of methamphetaime went into effect last month.

Police obtained the warrant to arrest Henry, 43, of Wadesboro on Jan. 2 and made the arrest on Jan. 3, according to the WPD.

The new law, North Carolina General Statute 90-95(d1)(1)(c) states, “It is unlawful for any person to possess a pseudoephedrine product if the person has a prior conviction for the possession or manufacture of methamphetamine.” It went into effect on Dec. 1, 2013.

Henry is in the Anson County Jail on a $5,000 secured bond.
