Monday morning shooting leaves one dead

Two people were found shot at a residence on Branch Road near Lilesville early Monday morning.

According to a press release from the Anson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 3 a.m. at a residence on Branch Road, which is located off U.S. 74, approximately eight miles east of Wadesboro. Inside the home, deputies found two people who had been shot. One subject was deceased and identified as Dorian Miles, black female, 32, of Polkton. The second subject was identified as Hasson Mohammad Pressley, a black male, 33, who lived at the residence. Pressley was sent to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and was listed in critical condition as of Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Tommy Allen said a subject had been taken into custody for questioning, but there are no charges or arrests at this time. The sheriff added that the person’s name has not been released. “This is a person of interest at this time,” he said.
