Loss against Havelock ends Anson’s football season

The Bearcats lost their second playoffs game to Havelock High School on Friday, 53-14.

Anson was down 27-0 by the end of the first quarter. The Bearcats managed to make a touchdown and PAT in the second quarter, but Havelock gained 13 more points, making the score 40-7 by halftime.

The third quarter was even worse, with Anson making 0 points to Havelock’s 13, making the score 53-7. Anson made one more touchdown and PAT in the final quarter. Even though Havelock failed to score in the fourth quarter, Anson’s loss was still an overwhelming 53-14.

This was Anson’s second round in the 2013 North Carolina High School Football Playoffs in the NCHSAA-3A following their win on Nov. 15 against Southern Guilford. This game ends Anson’s season.
