Locked door thwarts would-be bank robber in Polkton

October 9, 2013

Officers with the Anson County Sheriff's Office and Polkton Police Department believe a locked door kept a potential bank robber from entering a bank in Polkton.

Around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, an individual with a mask attempted to enter the front door of First Bank in Polkton. Because the bank has an automatic lock on the front door and tellers must “buzz” customers in, which they did not in this case, the would-be robber turned and walked away.

Officers searched the area but found no suspect. Anyone with any information on this suspect please call the Anson County Sheriff's Office at 704-694-4188 or the FBI.
